Three Dimensional Simulations
Using the laws of physics, intricately detailed vehicle models, and three-dimensional laser scans or aerial imagery of the crash site, simulations bring the crash to life and allow you to witness it in real-time. As a powerful analysis tool, simulations allow ARCCA’s engineers to study a vehicle’s behavior before, during, and after a collision. By using visually stunning software to analyze the collision, we’re able to create compelling and admissible images and videos while reconstructing the collision. Or take it a step further with a full animation.
ARCCA’s engineers utilize simulations to visualize how vehicles respond to a collision, analyze tire patterns resulting from a loss of control event or collision, calculate impact forces, and to study maneuvers or actions that may have prevented a collision. In the example below, a convertible fails to stop at a red light, causing a collision within the intersection. After analyzing the physics of the collision, the simulation was used to get into the driver’s seat of the SUV and watch the crash unfold.
Event data recorders can provide tabulated data of a vehicle’s movements leading up to a collision. Entering that data into a simulation allows ARCCA’s engineers to visually demonstrate those crucial moments.
