Dr. Howard is a Senior Biomechanist specializing in injury biomechanics and human factors. He has extensive experience in conducting research on human movement, injury, and performance, such as gait analysis and human reaction. Dr. Howard has experience performing analysis on building codes and standards associated with personal injuries and premises liability as well. He applies this work to all segments of the human body involved in collisions and other impact-producing events.

During his studies at Louisiana State University, Dr. Howard’s doctoral research focused on the effects of nervous system alterations on neuromotor control. In the final year of his Ph.D., Dr. Howard worked as a contracted Research Associate at Google specializing in Augment Reality User Experience Research (AR UX), where he conducted qualitative and quantitative human factors research. After, Dr. Howard performed post-doctoral research at Old Dominion University on neuromotor performance after brain impacts, specifically on how repetitive sub-concussive blast events impact the neuromotor performance of military personnel. He also performed research on fall risks in older adults, gait kinematics in young and older adults, VR concussion testing validation, and athlete concussion testing as well. With his extensive competitive running experience, Dr. Howard also has a special interest in sports biomechanics, specializing in running kinematics and kinetics.
