During accidents, unrestrained occupants can either be thrown throughout the vehicle or ejected, which could result in injury or death. This can also raise the question of “who was driving”? In one case, ARCCA was retained to determine the actual driver of a vehicle involved in a crash.
Our crashworthiness engineer performed a forensic inspection of the vehicle’s interior, focusing on the seat belts and interior abrasions, as well as an analysis of the kinematic trajectory. Our biomechanical expert used this information, along with physical injury patterns, to determine the seating positions of the occupants prior to the accident.
