ARCCA was contracted by The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to work with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to study frontal crash testing and the biofidelity of the Hybrid III 3 year old test dummies. In addition ARCCA also studied the performance of both tethered and untethered child safety seats, booster seats and lap belt only seat belts with children. The results provided industry benchmarks for performance characteristics and were published in peer reviewed articles.
