Introducing Vasiliki Kefala, Ph.D. out of our ARCCA office in Philadelphia!
Dr. Vasiliki Kefala is a Senior Biomechanist at ARCCA. She has over eight years of experience in a dynamic research laboratory dedicated to advancing orthopedic biomechanics, biomechanics laboratory testing, and verification and validation techniques. She has three years of clinical experience as a medical physics assistant as well, and has a solid background in engineering, science, and physics gained through research and coursework.
Dr. Kefala is skilled in performing data acquisition, analysis, and has published several studies to facilitate research into diverse topics. She is familiar with documentation requirements and bringing an organized and precision-minded approach to our Biomechanics and Human Factors group. Dr. Kefala applies her expertise in biomechanics, human factors, and safety standards and codes to focus on slip, trip and fall events to uncover incident severity, injury causation, and liability.
Some of her professional affiliations are with the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES), American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), International Code Council (ICC), and American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM).
