An ARCCA engineer was retained on a case where the driver lost control of the car and crashed. The engineer performed a vehicle inspection and found that an incorrect nut was placed on the sway bar during the vehicle’s maintenance. This nut eventually backed off which led to the loss of control of the car. The engineer confirmed with the manufacturer’s repair manual that the incorrect nut was installed.
