Lap belts have been an issue in crashworthiness for many years. In one example, ARCCA was involved in a case where a child was restrained only by a lap belt in a car involved in a crash and the child suffered a spinal injury. The child safety expert determined that a traditional 3-point restraint would have prevented the spinal injury.
Our visual communications professionals have developed numerous animations to show belt/occupant interaction, based on the expert’s analysis and opinions. They have also produced both stock and custom medical illustrations to show and explain resultant injuries and medical conditions.
